I love Buy Buy Baby! It's such a great baby store! For those of you who don't know, Buy Buy Baby is a new baby store that is owned by the same company as Bed Bath and Beyond. And what's really awesome is that you can use Bed Bath and Beyond coupons at Buy Buy Baby!
The only downside is that there are only three locations so far in Texas. The good news though is that one of those three stores is in Austin!
I think I've decided that this is where I will be registering when the time comes. :-)

CHINESE GENDER CHART
I've heard from different people that the Chinese Gender Chart is pretty close to accurate when it comes to guessing the sex of a baby.
According to the Chinese Gender Chart, my baby will be a BOY! I guess we'll see in a few weeks whether or not that's true!!!

MY BABY IS AN AVOCADO!
So, now that I've started my 16th week of pregnancy, my baby is working hard to be the size of an avocado! :-)
Here is what the website has to say on the subject:
Watch what you say... tiny bones forming in baby's ears mean the little one can now pick up your voice. Eyebrows, lashes and hair are starting to fill in, and taste buds are forming. And, if you're interested, an ultrasound might be able to determine gender.

15 WEEKS DOWN, 25 TO GO!
I'm 15 weeks into my pregnancy today. :-)
My bump is slowly growing, and so is my appetite! I'm trying to keep the food intake in check though. The last thing I want is to gain a bunch of extra weight that could possibly cause complications in my pregnancy, not to mention the extra weight I'll have to lose when the baby is born!
I don't really know if I've felt the baby move yet or not. It's so hard to tell! My doctor has told me that while most women feel the baby moving around 18-20 weeks, many women feel the movements as early on as 12 weeks. What I have been feeling can only be described as someone popping bubble gum under my skin. It's weird. I think I'm pretty confident that it's not gas, so that only leads me to believe that it's the baby! But, I'm not 100% for sure. It'll be exciting when I get to the point where I KNOW it's the baby that I'm feeling!!!
According to www.babycenter.com:
"Your growing baby now measures about 4 inches long, crown to rump, and weighs in at about 2 1/2 ounces (about the size of an apple). He's busy moving amniotic fluid through his nose and upper respiratory tract, which helps the primitive air sacs in his lungs begin to develop. His legs are growing longer than his arms now, and he can move all of his joints and limbs. Although his eyelids are still fused shut, he can sense light. If you shine a flashlight at your tummy, for instance, he's likely to move away from the beam. There's not much for your baby to taste at this point, but he is forming taste buds. Finally, if you have an ultrasound this week, you may be able to find out whether your baby's a boy or a girl! (Don't be too disappointed if it remains a mystery, though. Nailing down your baby's sex depends on the clarity of the picture and on your baby's position. He or she may be modestly curled up or turned in such a way as to "hide the goods.")"

MY BABY IS AN ORANGE!
My baby is the size of a navel orange! I eat those all the time. :-)
According to the website that I got the picture and information from:
"Continuing the march towards normal proportions, baby's legs now outmeasure the arms. And, finally, all four limbs have functional joints. Your fetus is squirming and wiggling like crazy down in the womb, though you probably still can't feel the movements."

14 WEEKS DOWN, 26 TO GO!
Today marks the completion of 14 weeks of pregnancy. Time to work on week 15! :-)
For the most part, I've gotten my energy back. I have little spells of fatigue throughout the day, but nothing major. My appetite has definitely come back...with a vengeance, if I might add. In the last week, the two food items that have been the most satisfying are meatball subs and a philly cheesesteak sandwich from Texadelphia. LOL. Lately, I've been craving some kettle cooked jalapeno flavored chips. Too bad none of this stuff is healthy! I figure that during my first trimester, all I ate was fruit, so this is kind of making up for that. Right? No? That's not how it works? Dang.
According to www.babycenter.com:
"This week's big developments: Your baby can now squint, frown, grimace, pee, and possibly suck his thumb! Thanks to brain impulses, his facial muscles are getting a workout as his tiny features form one expression after another. His kidneys are producing urine, which he releases into the amniotic fluid around him — a process he'll keep up until birth. He can grasp, too, and if you're having an ultrasound now, you may even catch him sucking his thumb.
In other news: Your baby's stretching out. From head to bottom, he measures 3 1/2 inches — about the size of a lemon — and he weighs 1 1/2 ounces. His body's growing faster than his head, which now sits upon a more distinct neck. By the end of this week, his arms will have grown to a length that's in proportion to the rest of his body. (His legs still have some lengthening to do.) He's starting to develop an ultra-fine, downy covering of hair, called lanugo, all over his body. Your baby's liver starts making bile this week — a sign that it's doing its job right — and his spleen starts helping in the production of red blood cells. Though you can't feel his tiny punches and kicks yet, your little pugilist's hands and feet (which now measure about 1/2 inch long) are more flexible and active."

MY BABY IS A LEMON!
By the end of the week, my baby will be the size of a lemon! :-) A larger lemon, of course.
This is what the website that I got the picture from is saying:
"Your adorable little fetus is busy with thumb sucking, toe wiggling, and (not so cute but equally amazing) making urine and breathing amniotic fluid as the liver, kidneys and spleen continue to develop. Lanugo (thin, downy hair) is growing all over the body for warmth."

OUR FUTURE BABY?
So, I did one of those face morphing things that will give us an insight as to what our baby will look like on www.morphthing.com. :-)
Here are the pictures I used of me and Mark:

And here are the results of the morphing. This is what our young child will supposedly look like (if it's a girl). :-)
What do you think???

13 WEEKS DOWN, 27 TO GO!
I'm 13 weeks pregnant today! That's 91 days in. That's 32.5% of the way through my entire pregnancy. Only 189 days left until my due date. :-)
According to www.babycenter.com:
"Fingerprints have formed on your baby's tiny fingertips, his veins and organs are clearly visible through his still-thin skin, and his body is starting to catch up with his head — which makes up just a third of his body size now. If you're having a girl, she now has more than 2 million eggs in her ovaries. Your baby is almost 3 inches long (the size of a medium shrimp) and weighs nearly an ounce."
